Famous Red Wine
Cabernet Sauvignon:
Famously known as the “Napa Valley Gem”, Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied red wine. As the word “Cabs” can also be described as strong and rich. Ripened in French oak, this wine is made of dark fruit flavors mixed with earthy aromas and spices. A glass of Cabernet Sauvignon goes perfectly with red meat, especially juicy steaks.
Syrah:
A super combination of dark fruits mixed with spices and pepper, Syrah is a rich and bold red wine. Shiraz is an Australian style wine and tastes different than the “old world syrah” although, both of the wines are rich in flavors. With a taste so rich, Syrah is perfect for meaty dishes particularly venison.
Merlot:
Famous in western America’s growing states, Merlot is a red wine made from one of the most well-known grapes in Bordeaux. It is similar to Cabernet Sauvignon yet richer in fruits. The wine is rich in red fruit flavors, combined with aromas, vanilla notes, spices and made more complex by smooth tannins. All these ingredients are the indication of oak-aging. A dry, light and crisp white wine mixed with grassy aromas and citrus note, Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect blend of oak-aged wine with vanilla flavors and spice. It tastes delicious when served with grilled white meat or vegetables. Also, it goes well with scallops or other shellfish.
Chardonnay:
Full-bodied to medium, Chardonnay is the most famous white wine type not only in America but globally. One of the best Chardonnay wines has the buttery mouth-feel the flavor and are oak-aged. Fruits like pear and apple are mixed with a hint of spice, vanilla and citrus aromas to make a perfect Chardonnay. Any dish that has creamy sauce flavor, this wine pairs perfectly with it.
Pinot Grigio:
Refreshing crisp fruit flavored mainly apple and pear, Pinot Grigio is a typical Italian white wine that is dry and lighter. It is brew bit differently compared to other wines. The cultivation process involves medium-bodied wines with a hint of minerals and floral aromas. However, both brewing procedures may seem to the same but the final method is named as Pinot Gris instead of Pinot Grigio. Both drinks are perfect when served with seafood.
Riesling:
This wine is Germany’s flagship wine, typically originated from the Rhine Valley. Initially tastes sweet and acidic but is perfectly balanced out with honey flavors and major minerals. If you are an Asian cuisine lover, then Riesling is the perfect drink for you.
